Celebrate Easter in Greece or canoe the Norfolk Broads with this month's best short-break ideas
The Canoeman, Norfolk Broad paddle strokes WHY GO NOW?
The Canoeman goes where mere mortals fear to tread. He knows that the secrets of the Norfolk Broads reveal themselves only to those with an oar and an intricate knowledge of the tiny tributaries and backwaters that exclude all but the smallest of vessels. And luckily enough, from April, he is willing to share his expertise with anyone who asks. Taking a guided canoe trail around the Broad's secret capillaries is a uniquely fascinating way to explore one of Britain's most serene regions. Look out for kingfishers and otters as you gently paddle past the rustling reeds and rippling shallows of hidden streams and dykes, serenaded by the distant cries of bitterns and bearded tits. No previous canoeing experience is needed but, for the more adventurous, bushcraft trails - combining canoeing with survival skills - and foraging trips can be arranged.
