Fairhaven Canoe Hire Notes

  • In addition to the canoe hire fee you will also need to pay for entrance into the Gardens at £5 per adult, £2.50 per child. This allows you to wander around the gardens before and after your canoe hire.
  • It is strongly advised that you book in advance to guarantee a canoe to be available at weekends.
  • During weekdays, you will need to book so TheCanoeMan Guide can meet you.
  • Please note, weather conditions may affect the cancellation of the canoe hire and the appropriate refund will be given but this decision may not be made until the day and we will give you as much notice as possible.
  • If you have not done much paddling before, we would recommend to a couple of hours or a half day hire.
  • Canoe hire times
11am (Please arrive by 10.30am to allow yourselves to walk down to the meeting point where the canoes are.)
1.30pm (Please arrive by 1pm to allow yourselves to walk down to the meeting point where the canoes are.)

General Canoe Hire Notes

Additional transport outside of any canoe hire can be arranged at an additional cost of £10, eg from Norwich Train Station.

Prior to your canoeing trip we will give you a short briefing about the river and some tips on how to keep your boats upright and going in a straight line.

Should you require food at lunchtime this can be pre-ordered for you, this saves you a lot of time.

We have Canadian canoes that can take up to 4 persons (typically 2 adults and 2 children or 3 adults). They have a maximum weight limit of 36 stone. These boats are ideal for the total novice or for those wishing to go on longer trips, they are capable of taking all your camping equipment & luggage for up to a week canoeing / camping.

If you require any further details or would like to talk about other dates, please do not hesitate to contact me either by email info@TheCanoeMan.com or on 01603 499177

We can also provide you with a free leaflet Canoeing in the Broads (also available from Tourist and Broads Information Centres).
