How fit do I need to be?

excellent method of getting mild aerobic exercise. Please advise
us of any conditions that you have that maybe relevant to the
activity you are undertaking i.e. Asthma, diabetes, epilepsy,
allergies, heart conditions etc. If you have any concerns please
call.
How big are the canoes?

2 Adults and 2 children or 3 Adults - similarly the 3 Man will
take 2 Adults and one child or 3 small adults.
How big is an Adult???

please advise us in advance.

What if I capsize?
It is highly unlikely! We have very few capsizes maybe 1 in 100
people. If you are that special one then don't panic. If your on a
guided trail - your guide will be very nearby and will reunite you
with you boat as quickly as is safely possible. If you've hired
your canoe wade or swim to the side (with your canoe in tow) empty
the boat and get back in! Its recommended that you don't change
into any spare clothes until you finish your trip or you begin to
get very cold. In the event of an emergency we always provide bank
support available on the phone number that will be provided.
Does the event get cancelled in the case of
bad weather?
Unless the weather is extreme your canoe trail will most likely go
ahead - please dress accordingly. If in any doubt please contact
us before leaving home to confirm.
What is the maximum age?
To date our oldest participant was 85! As they say you're only as
old as you feel! We would however kindly request that if you have
any special needs or have issues that may concern you about
paddling then please contact us to discuss the matter further.
What is the minimum age?
This is more dictated by size - we have to be happy that your
child is completely secure in a fully approved buoyancy aid. Ours
usually fit children down to about the age of 4. If you have your
own CE approved Bouyancy Aids you should be OK to use them subject
to our instructors approval.
Would a parent on their own with children
under 8 be able to canoe or does it take 2 adults?
We find that most adults with children 6 upwards can manage a boat
but we reserve the right to ask you to either be joined by an
instructor or by another member of the party in the unusual event
that you are struggling!
Could you tell me where I need to join you?
I don't have a car, can I get to you by public transport?
You can get a Train to Norwich from where we can provide Transport
to Horning (£10 add. Charge each way) Or from Norwich you can
catch another train to Wroxham and we'll pick you up from there.
(£5add. Charge each way)
Do I need to bring my own tent and equipment
for the canoe / camping?
We supply your equipment for the Canoe Bushcraft trails but for
the Canoe/ camping you can bring your own equipment or you can use
ours for a small additional fee (Tent + Cooker = £5 per person per
night Minimum £10) We recommend you bring your own sleeping Bag /
roll mat but these are also available should you need them.
When does your season start?
How good a sleeping Bag have you got??? Realistically March
onwards through till October.
