About Us

Swallows & Amazon’s Adventure Days at TheCanoeMan’s Woodland Activity Centre - Set in the heart of the Norfolk Broads, TheCanoeMan’s Woodland Activity Centre (WAC) offers a range of woodland activities from wildlife walks through to archery, bushcraft and other woodland activities. Getting to the WAC involves a walk through the beautiful Fairhaven Gardens, a short canoe ride across one of the most stunning broads in the county. Teaming with wildlife South Walsham inner broad is home to otters, bitterns, woodocks as well as one of the biggest populations of breeding Great Crested Grebes in the Broads. Paddling your canoe through the quiet backwaters and then across the broad onto the WAC you cannot help but see lots of wildlife. Once at the WAC you will be taught the mystical art of bushcraft, learning to light fires without matches or lighters, how to build a rainproof shelter, backwoods cooking, plant and tree identification and uses and much more. During lunch you will have the opportunity to explore the wood or just sit and relax in the glade. After lunch a woodland archery session to find out who amongst you and your friends is the next Robin Hood. The canoe journey home will take you round a different part of the broad with further opportunities to get close to local wildlife. - TheCanoeMan in the Norfolk Broads, Broads National Park, England, UK
