Norfolk
Broads Camping Canoe
Trails
1 & 2* night canoe trails exploring some of
Norfolk's most beautiful rivers. At the end of each day relaxing
with friends and family to discuss the day’s adventures at one of
our campsites in the heart of the countryside.
Most people opt for our two day trail, arriving
on the first evening, spending the next day on the water, followed
by another night under canvas (we use the same campsite for both
nights so there is no need to re-pitch tents) and a second day on
the water, returning home that evening. Of course we can arrange
extra nights and days for you; it’s just a case of talking to us.
There is also your opportunity to travel through
the heart of the Norfolk Broads without ever needing your car!
Norwich is 90 minutes from London Liverpool Street, we can collect
you from our nearest train station with is Wroxham/Hoveton Station
(local train from Norwich Railway Station) and deliver you to your campsite where
you will find a tent ready pitched and the necessary equipment
waiting**
You can leave London at 4pm on a Friday
afternoon and be settled in and enjoying refreshment at a local
hostelry by 7pm, ready to start a two day canoe trail the
following morning and be back in London by Sunday evening.
*trails can be extended to 3 and 4 nights please
call us to discuss.
**additional fee, sleeping bags not included.
| "I just wanted to say
thank you for an excellent trip this weekend. Of
course the scenery and the weather were perfect, but we were
very impressed with the service provided by Glen who set us
off paddling. His care and attention to detail were
much appreciated. Thank you." |

Sample Itinerary - River Bure
This route is for people who like Adventure
and are not afraid of getting stuck in. It is nearly entirely on
non-navigable water, meaning you are highly unlikely to see
another craft, except may be the odd canoe. But there are a total
of 4 short portages (a very short section where you have to get
out and carry your boat around an immoveable obstruction such as a
lock or weir). The longest of these is some 150m with most being
50m or less.
1st
Night: Arrive at our campsite, conveniently placed for an
excellent pub serving good food and beer. If you require food
after 9.00pm please contact us. Set up camp and settle in for the
night.
1st Day: Is a relatively short paddle
with a lovely lunchtime walk to one off the best pubs in the area
which takes approximately half hour each way. The route entails a
couple of smaller dykes that may/ may not have overhanging trees.
Dependent on water conditions and time of the year it cannot be
ruled out that they may be the necessity at some point to get your
feet wet! In order to drag the boat over a particular shallow
area.
The trip however is beautiful taking you out
into the wilds of the Norfolk countryside with all the peace and
tranquillity you can handle. The river is generally beautifully
clear with a vast array of wildlife from kingfishers to
occasionally the elusive otter. Looking over the edge of your boat
is like looking into your own personal fish tank. At the finish
point you lock the boat up with the cable provided and head to the
campsite for an evening of good food and relaxation. The campsite
has full facilities including showers and of course the pub.
2nd Day: The next day your return to the
river to continue your journey through the beautiful Broadland
countryside. With the assistance of the map provided your will be
able to work your way through the Broads, with the possibility of
a pub lunch at the halfway point. As the day draws to a close you
will meet at the pre-arranged point to be transported back to the
campsite and your vehicle.
| 2-Day Canoe Camping Includes: |
- 2 Days canoe hire
- 2 nights campsite fees
- Transport to start of trail and
