Bushcraft Bow Making Courses
Two day course (including overnight stay in woods). The course will cover making a basic bushcraft bow using materials that are readily available, we will cover safe use of tools, a brief history of the bow, string making, basic arrows and associated equipment.
Day 1 Will cover materials sourcing and roughing out a bow stave , and time permitting basic tillering.
That night we bivvy overnight under tarp shelters. You will experience a night around your own campfire amongst friends and enthusiasts alike with the sights and sounds of the woods around you. This will be the opportunity to learn some mystical Bushcraft, including firelighting skills, cooking over an open fire, etc
Day 2 The following morning after a hearty breakfast we will continue with the course refining and tillering the bow, making the string and time allowing material sourcing and making basic arrows.
The course is aimed at the archery novice as the bows will generally be based on stone age / early medieval bows and equipment.*
The courses are conducted at a relaxed pace in a friendly atmosphere and will be tailored to the requirements of the group where ever possible.
